Manuka honey is made in Australia and New Zealand by bees that pollinate the leptospermum scoparium bush. This bush, also known as tea tree, is native to Australia and New Zealand.
Historically, Manuka honey has been used to treat burns and skin infections. Manuka honey contains methylglyoxal (MGO), which gives Manuka honey its antibacterial nature.
Manuka honey is also used as an anti-inflammatory, making it the perfect ingredient for natrual skincare products.
